Microneedling

What is Dermapen microneedling? Dermapen microneedling is an innovative skin treatment that promotes scar-free healing and accelerates the natural production of collagen, enhancing the health and appearance of your skin. Utilizing a fractional microneedling device called Dermapen, this procedure aims to lift, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin.

What sets Dermapen microneedling apart from other similar skin treatments are two distinguishing factors: its ability to target various areas such as crevices around the lips and eyes, and its minimal side effects on the skin.

During the treatment, old scar tissues are broken down, stimulating the proliferation of new skin cells. This process triggers the synthesis of collagen and elastin in the skin's tissue layer, contributing to smoother and suppler skin. Additionally, the procedure enhances blood circulation, imparting an overall radiant glow to the skin.

Dermapen microneedling boasts versatile capabilities, offering solutions to a range of skin issues, including wrinkles, acne, dark spots, acne scars, trauma scars, surgical scars, keloid scars, enlarged pores, pigmentation, stretch marks, crow's feet, and fine lines. As a result, this treatment yields younger-looking skin with increased smoothness, firmness, and radiance.

How does Dermapen microneedling work? Dermapen is equipped with a spring-loaded needle tip, facilitating the treatment of skin concerns. Comprising 11 ultra-sterile stainless steel needles, the Dermapen creates minute punctures that penetrate the skin's surface.

Although the procedure involves penetration of the skin layers, the discomfort is minimal and often negligible due to the shallow needle insertion. For those concerned about pain, the use of anesthetics can significantly minimize sensations during the treatment.

This microneedling process employs an automated, vibrating motion, resembling a stamp-like action, to create the punctures. The controlled precision of Dermapen makes it medically safer compared to other microneedling approaches.

The resulting punctures resemble wounds, triggering the formation of collagen during the healing process, leading to smoother and thicker skin. Collagen and elastin production are accelerated, which becomes particularly advantageous as the body produces less collagen with age. Moreover, this process encourages natural rejuvenation within the body.

The treatment procedure consists of four steps:

  1. Cleaning: The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove dead cells, dirt, and dust, enabling better penetration of the needles for optimal treatment.

  2. Treatment: The microneedling process, as described above, takes place, penetrating, stimulating, and thickening the skin to reduce the appearance of scars, fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, and other imperfections.

  3. Masking: Following the treatment, a cooling mask is applied to the skin to alleviate any potential discomfort caused by the procedure.

  4. Skin Cleansing: The final step involves nourishing the skin to maintain proper hydration and enhance the treatment's effectiveness.

Is Dermapen microneedling safe? Dermapen microneedling is a highly reliable skin treatment widely recognized for its efficacy. Unlike other microneedling treatments, Dermapen's replaceable microneedle tips are individually packaged, eliminating any risk of contamination between patients.

The device can be customized to meet individual needs, with 11 stainless steel needles placed in an automatic spring device, adjustable from 0.25 to 2.50ml, targeting specific areas of the face requiring treatment. This precision ensures accurate and secure punctures by the needles.

Furthermore, the Dermapen needles penetrate vertically instead of at an angle, minimizing damage to the skin's surface and reducing overall discomfort.

Dermapen microneedling is suitable for individuals with a variety of skin conditions; however, individuals with skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis should avoid this treatment. Pregnant women are also advised to refrain from this procedure. Other than these conditions, it is generally safe to undergo the treatment.

Nevertheless, caution is advised when receiving this sensitive procedure, and it should be administered solely by qualified medical professionals in reputable medical facilities.

After Treatment: Dermapen microneedling requires minimal post-treatment care. Some patients may experience slight redness, scaling, or itching, which is normal and usually subsides within a few days.

During the initial 24 hours after treatment, using makeup is advisable, and for the following days, it is recommended to opt for oil-free makeup. Additionally, regular use of sunscreen and avoiding direct sun exposure can further enhance the treatment's results. It is important to adhere to any post-treatment guidelines provided by the medical practitioner.
