What is hyperactivity or ADHD?

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a disorder that can often be diagnosed since childhood, but in most cases this disease continues into adulthood. Better and earlier recognition of this disease is very important, for this reason Raha Brain and Neurology Clinic has investigated this disorder in this article and we are addressing the question of what hyperactivity is and how to treat it.
What is hyperactivity disease?
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is often manifested at the age of less than 7 years and may continue into adulthood. Although most cases of this disease are seen in children, adults can also suffer from this disorder.
Sometimes this disease is also called ADHD syndrome. The word syndrome means a set of signs and symptoms that often exist in various diseases. ADHD disorder is a specific disease, so perhaps using the term syndrome is not entirely correct.
Attention deficit disorder or hyperactivity disorder is shown by three types of behavioral disorders:
✓ Inattention
✓ Hyperactivity
✓ Acting without thinking (Impulsivity)

What is the cause of hyperactivity?
Although this disease is very common in society, the cause of hyperactivity in people is not very clear. However, most people and doctors believe that the occurrence of this disorder is usually due to neurological and genetic roots. Researches have shown that the decrease of dopamine is one of the main contributing factors in the emergence of ADHD.
Dopamine is a chemical substance whose secretion significantly affects the activities of the human brain and body and will greatly help the transmission of nerve signals. This substance is very effective in emotional reactions.
The results show that the volume of the gray cortex of the brain of those suffering from this attention deficit disorder is smaller than the rest of the people. Gray matter includes a special area of the brain that controls some behaviors and functions. The most important of these behaviors are the following:
✓ Talking
✓ Self-control
✓ Decision making
✓ Control of muscles and muscles
Even today, scientists and researchers are trying hard to find out the causes of this complication. However, they have said that the following are the main causes of hyperactivity:
✓ Heredity
✓ Neurotoxins and exposure to pollutants such as lead or pesticides
✓ Consumption of alcohol and tobacco during pregnancy

What are the symptoms of hyperactivity?
To answer the question of what hyperactivity is, you must first familiarize yourself with its symptoms, so its symptoms can be divided into 2 types of behavioral problems:

1- Inattention

2- Hyperactivity and irritability
The problems that most people with ADHD fall into both categories, but this is not always the case. For example, some affected people may only suffer from inattention while not suffering from hyperactivity or irritability.
