Dr. Hosseinzadeh Attar Mohammad Javad
Professor of Clinical Nutrition
Dr. Attar Hosseinzadeh, MD, PhD, is a highly educated, skilled, and dedicated professional in the field of Clinical Nutrition and Nutrition in critically ill patients. With a remarkable track record, he has published over 120 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals, garnering more than 1700 citations. Dr. Hosseinzadeh is a renowned researcher, and his contributions have extended to conducting related courses, international workshops, and congresses.
Currently, he holds the esteemed position of Dean at the School of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics at Tehran University of Medical Sciences since 2018. Prior to this, he served as a Professor in the Department of Clinical Nutrition within the same school. Dr. Hosseinzadeh has also demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities as the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Head of the Graduate Council, and Acting Dean at the School of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics between 2012 and 2016.
His international reputation has earned him visiting professorship positions at prestigious institutions. Notably, he served as a Visiting Professor at the Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) in Translating Nutritional Science to Good Health at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia from 2016 to 2017. Additionally, he held the position of Visiting Associate Professor in Nutrition in Critically Ill Patients at the Department of Gerontology and Metabolic Care, Medical Faculty, Charles University, Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, in 2015.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hosseinzadeh has been an active academic member, serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Nutrition at the School of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics from 2012 to 2016 and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Biochemistry at the School of Public Health, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, from 2005 to 2012.
His contributions to the field have been acknowledged internationally, as he holds memberships in prestigious organizations such as the American Society for Nutrition and the Disaster and Emergency Health Academia at Tehran University of Medical Sciences since 2011.
Dr. Hosseinzadeh's passion for promoting nutrition and health is evident in his role as the Head of the Nutritional Congress Organizing Committee at the Iranian Nutrition Society from 2008 to 2013.
In pursuit of advanced training and research, he engaged in clinical attachments at prominent medical institutions, including Whittington Hospital, Middlesex Hospital, and the Department of Medicine at University College London for Basic and Clinical Studies from 2001 to 2004. He also gained valuable experience in obesity clinics at St. Georges Hospital, London, and diabetes and endocrine clinics at Middlesex Hospital and Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, UK, during 2000 to 2004.
