    Dr. Hosseini Saeed

    Associate Professor of Nutrition

    Dr. Hosseini has an impressive and diverse professional journey spanning 30 years in the medical field. Starting in 1992, she served as an Attending Physician in the Emergency Department at Khatam Hospital in Taibad, Iran. From 1989 to 1991, she gained valuable experience as an Attending Intern at Ghaem Hospital, School of Medicine, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran.

    In 2002, Dr. Hosseini pursued her Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the USC - UCLA Research Center for Alcoholic Liver and Pancreatic Diseases in Los Angeles, California, USA, further enriching her knowledge in the field of Nutrition. Before that, she earned her Doctoral Diploma in Medicine from the Ministry of Health, Treatment & Medical Education in Iran in 1991.

    Throughout her academic career, she has held various academic and leadership roles. From 2013 to the present, Dr. Hosseini has served as an Associate Professor in the Clinical Nutrition Department at the School of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Additionally, since 2003, she has been the Head of the Nutrition Unit at the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Center, Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

    Prior to her current position, she was an Assistant Professor in the Nutrition and Biochemistry Department at the School of Public Health and Institute of Health Research, Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Center, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, from 2003 to 2012. Moreover, from 2002 to 2003, she served as an Assistant Professor in the Nutrition Department at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.

    Dr. Hosseini's dedication and contributions to the field have been recognized through various honors and awards. Notably, she was awarded the NIH Research Fellowship by the USC - UCLA Research Center for Alcoholic Liver and Pancreatic Diseases from 2000 to 2002. During her time at The University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, USA, she received the Graduate Tuition Waiver and the Graduate Research Assistantship from the Graduate College from 1997 to 2000.

    Her academic and clinical expertise has led to memberships in esteemed professional organizations, including the Iranian Burn Committee, Editorial Boards of Iranian Journal of Nutrition (MATA) and Iranian Journal of Nutritional Sciences and Food Industry, and various international nutrition associations, such as the American Obesity Association, the American Society for Nutritional Sciences (ASNS), the American Society for Clinical Nutrition (ASCN), and the Society for International Nutrition Research (SINR).

    Furthermore, Dr. Hosseini holds several essential certifications and licenses, including the Authorization Certificate to Commence Post-Graduate Training in California from the Medical Board of California, Sacramento, CA, USA, in 1997, and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduate (ECFMG) Certificate in the USA in 1997.

    Her impressive academic journey began at The University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, USA, where she pursued her major in Nutritional Science and a minor in Microbiology & Immunology, obtaining her degree in 2000.

    Dr. Hosseini's expertise, leadership, and commitment to advancing the field of Clinical Nutrition and Nutrition in critically ill patients have made her an esteemed Associate Professor in the field.
